Via neighbour Modesta, Christiaan came into contact with Kolmer in 2008. With his background in metalworking, he made a great addition to the team. He switched from the workshop to Shipping in 2018 and has since then worked on organising all incoming goods and returns in the warehouse. “Quite a different job, but I still step in at the workshop on a regular basis.” As a perfectionist, his role in the warehouse sometimes presents a challenge. Improvement and growth but without making mistakes. That’s how Christiaan would prefer to work. “I’m proud of the steps we’ve taken in recent years. We expanded the warehouse and rearranged it. We’ve also taken a step towards professionalisation in terms of working methods. A working week is gone before you know it and I’m always running out of time which I like.”

A driven and good-humoured person is how you would describe Christiaan. “This is why the work at the warehouse suits me well. We are an actual family within Kolmer and that makes me feel quite at home. From Management to the shop floor, no one is a number here and I have experienced that from day one. We’re having fun together.” Christiaan lives in Harderwijk with his wife and two children. Besides work and family there is not much free time left, but Christiaan likes to fill up the time available with his computer or doing odd jobs in and around the house. Occasionally he supports a friend in building light and sound installations for events. “It’s a lot of fun to work on that behind the scenes.”
