Jan Bakker

Salesmanager

Jan worked at Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift Europe for over twelve years. After a small side trip to software, he has been back in engineering since 2016. Technical commercial functions are his trademark because Jan is a result-oriented colleague who gets along well with customers. Of course Kolmer likes to supply standard motors but what challenge is the customer actually facing? Jan doesn’t erupt into action with the most obvious idea as he’d rather aim for a custom-made motor that fully meets the customer’s requirements. “I love engaging in conversations with people. I want to find out what problems they face and then offer the ideal solution.” Jan became head of the Sales Department In 2020. “Kolmer wants to grow and our department has an important role to play in this. The specially developed Kolmer Top Coating offers great opportunities in this respect. When I land a nice order or have a successful conversation with a new customer, my day couldn’t be any better.”

“Just be your normal self and do your best”, “get on with it and carry on”. These are statements that fit Jan to a tee. He’s a go-getter and doesn’t give up easily. Every Monday Jan is present in Putten to attend the sales meeting, among other things. He appreciates the companiable atmosphere and his great colleagues. “Kolmer is a people-oriented employer where colleagues live up to their word. I am proud of the great results we achieve, such as the wonderful order for a 1.1 megawatt motor we recently netted. Many a motor supplier wants to score such an order and we succeeded based on quality and perseverance.” Jan lives on Urk with his wife and three children. His passion is singing and he also likes to keep himself busy with digital media.
"If customization is required, Kolmer Electric Motors will also do everything in their power to seamlessly meet our demand. Customization is all about details and they are good at that!"
