Melo started working for Kolmer in June 2019. After having worked as a planner for eighteen years, he’s currently back in the workshop. A role that suits him well thanks to his background in metal technology. “Both my age and Moroccan background do not make it self-evident that you will be received in a positive way when applying for a job. We just clicked, however. At Kolmer they look at the person you are, what you can do and what you want. Your background or age doesn’t come into it. This makes me really proud of this organisation.”

It takes some getting used to being back on the floor, but Melo likes it even better than expected. “Every day my colleagues and I ensure that everything is ready to be shipped to our customers. The atmosphere is very companiable here and time flies. My work is varied and I learn new things every day. I’m happy to be working with these colleagues.” Melo is an honest, social and pleasant colleague who wants to perform his duties in a high-quality manner. A fast-learning team player who adapts well to different situations and doesn’t mince words. Melo lives in Harderwijk and enjoys spending time with his family. He has four children and will soon become a grandfather for the first time. “I love nature and can walk for hours in the forest with my wife.”
